Welcome Back Winter

I just wanted to take this opportunity to welcome back the rain, the hail and the cold temps. Oh, and I think I might have forgotten to mention the pouring down rain. I thought I would have to wait until October or November for such festive weather! Pumpkin pie at the end of May just doesn't seem right. If it weren't for the new growth in my summer garden I would think we'd had an eclipse of seasons. Blah!

Baby Chicks

On Friday night Steve brought home the chickens that had started out as eggs in his classroom science unit. We have 8 little chicks peeping in our family room. It is such a pleasant, comforting sound. I love it! The kids are really enjoying holding them and talking to them. I am too. :-) For now they are in a brooder, aka Rubbermaid tote, and in a few weeks we will move them to a coop outside. It is going to be so much fun!
