"not my child" Monday!

Welcome to "not my child" Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what her kids have not been doing this week. Since this is my first time participating I will draw from our summer experiences rather than just from the previous week. Not that my kids didn't do a number of things just in the past week! This is just to spare you the disappointment of missing out on things that may or may not have happened earlier this summer. So here we go, Ahem...

This summer while camping my youngest definitely DID NOT surprise me by going poop in the forest next to our campsite. Certainly not! He also has never ever had to clean up urine from the laminate flooring in his bedroom. No way. He is definitely more conscientious about his toileting than that. He did not toss a washcloth into the toilet yesterday when he was done using it to clean his face. That would just be silly. And he definitely does not say my name over and over and over even when I am looking at him directly in the eye. He is not completely attached to me at all. Nope.

My sweet daughter did not enjoy fishing with her dad and brothers while on vacation last week. She did not catch a 15" Rainbow Trout, and consequently she was not proud at all. If anyone were to say that my daughter is expressive and conversational I would completely disagree with them. And she is definitely not the most expressive and conversational child in our family. She also does not have even a tiny inclination toward drama and will certainly never capture the attention of an audience. Nope. She is not at all concerned with telling the truth which is why she has certainly never told me that dinner looked really good but it actually wasn't. She would NEVER do that.

My oldest son does not instigate wrestling matches with his younger brother when it is time to get ready for bed. If he did, it would certainly never lead them to run through the house chasing his half-clothed younger brother. Definitely not. He has never walked over a stack of clean laundry on his way to tell me that he was out of clean clothes. Nope. He definitely did not let go of my hand during prayer time at church yesterday only to end up UNDER our chairs. He would not even dream of doing that.

Most of all, my children would certainly NEVER smile heart-warming smiles or giggle intoxicating laughs or give me enthusiastic, precious hugs. Never. Certainly not. No way.
