Art

Joel's class recently completed an extensive unit on Penguins. They learned about many different species of penguins - most of which I'd never heard of before. I was really impressed with how penguins permeated everything. They wrote a 5 sentence report on a penguin of their choice, learned to spell penguin, studied measurement in the context of the heights of the different penguin species, and did art as well. It was awesome! This darling penguin was from the Data Folder (final compilation of penguins studied) that Joel brought home on Thursday.

Kaylee's preschool class has been learning about jobs that are done by people in the community. They have had some guest speakers, primarily parents or relatives, who have come in to share about their jobs. The kids have also had a chance to think about what they would like to do when they grow up. Kaylee has discussed several possibilities with me, including being a doctor, but I really love her cowgirl idea too!
